History…

Back in 1987, a group of guys from the neighborhood got together for their first rehearsal.  With each having a unique style to contribute, they thought they might have something to offer to the group.  They haven’t looked back since. THE BUSINESS has been attracting a lot of attention since those early days.  Their quality tone and energetic performances have made them one of the most recognizable bands in both the public and private sectors.

Lights, Camera, Action…

Their reputation was what prompted producers of a nationally televised network special to contact them during the production of ABC’s “Brides: A Tale of Two Weddings.”Having come highly recommended by local catering facilities in the Delaware Valley, television execs figured THE BUSINESS might be able to familiarize them with wedding customs in the area.  After seeing and hearing THE BUSINESS in action, they were chosen to appear on the show as the featured musicians as well as play background music during title and collage segments of the project.  The 1991 special was initially seen by more than 10 million households nationwide.  The ABC production has since been syndicated and aired several more times.

In 1993, the group wrote, recorded and performed the official fight song for the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies.  “Those Phillies Thrill Me” was selected one of the best songs of 1993 by  “Out On The Town” Magazine.  THE BUSINESS also made the exclusive video for the song on Prism as well as appeared on several playoff specials on Channel 10.  This gave THE BUSINESS a chance to perform live on radio and television.

1993 also brought the group a chance to compete on the nationally syndicated television series, “Ed McMahon’s Star Search.”  They made their way onto the stage and into the homes of millions of viewers. In 1995, “Hip Hop a Billy” ( A Business original) was selected as one of the best songs by “Out On The Town”  Magazine. THE BUSINESS also has a full length CD featuring 11 original songs and a remake of the hit ballad, “I Believe In You and Me”, originally recorded by The Four Tops, which debuted live on Q102’s morning show.

THE BUSINESS are not only colleagues, but close friends from the same tight-knit South Philadelphia neighborhood.  They pride themselves for keeping the same core personnel for the past 27 years.  Not an easy task in today’s competitive business.

Celebrating their 27th year together,  THE BUSINESS  continues to provide constant enthusiasm as well as savvy.

The future is bright for THE BUSINESS.  They continue to dazzle the guests as a top notch wedding band as well as being able to please any audience for private parties or public venues such as night clubs and casinos.   There are many other things THE BUSINESS would like to accomplish.  So keep your eyes and ears open, because whenever you encounter THE BUSINESS, it will be spectacular.
